NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
Special Religious Education (SRE): Combined Christian SRE
Christian SRE at Toronto Public School is provided by SRE teachers from different Christian denominations and churches. The approved providers in this combined arrangement are Baptist Union of NSW . All Christian SRE teachers are authorised and trained by an approved provider.
The Christian SRE curriculum is authorised by Baptist Union of NSW. The curriculum is based on Good News about Jesus Christ and learning the key elements of our Christian life and culture and can be found at https://nswactbaptists.org.au/sre-schools. Christian SRE engages students in conversations as they question life, explore values and discover faith.
Special religious education takes place every Monday for a half hour duration. Depending on indicated written preference students participate in SRE with their stage, or in supervised well meaningful activities. Alternate activities include revision of key concepts, such as partnered reading, numeracy revision or homework/independent study time.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
